Mosquito/Spraying
WE HAVE ALL BEEN SHATTERED BY HURRICANE BERYL
WE ARE MAKING A COMBAT WITH OUR COMMUNITIES

Courtesy Fort Bend County Health and Human Services Environmental Health
Fort Bend County Health and Human Services Environmental Health Division will conduct aerial mosquito spraying, previously re-scheduled for Thursday, August 1st, and will take place between Friday, August 2 - Saturday, August 3 to control the mosquito population.
The aerial application of the mosquito control pesticide, DIBROM, will commence over designated areas of Fort Bend County, beginning around sunset.
Fort Bend County is responding to the many issues that Hurricane Beryl has left behind. One of the impacts is the exponential increase in the mosquito population. We are taking proactive steps to manage and mitigate this increase before there is further impact on our area.
As part of the response efforts, there will be Aerial Spraying in designated areas of the County.
This will aide in the response efforts as the County does not have the resources to cover all parts of the County that have been greatly impacted. Aerial Spraying, along with the current truck spraying, will help reduce the mosquito population.
Beekeepers can protect their bees by sheltering the hives during the spraying operations. For those who have questions regarding potential impacts, Sonja Swiger, from Texas A&M, will answer any questions and can be reached at slswiger@ag.tamu.edu.
